Will host the best T20 World Cup: Sourav Ganguly

MUMBAI: Even as he grapples with organising IPL 2021 in India amidst a surging pandemic, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has expressed hope that India would “host the best-ever ICC T20 World Cup” in October and November.
The former India captain has mentioned this in his letter (a copy is with TOI) sent on April 2 to the presidents and secretaries of all the state associations whom the BCCI has invited in Chennai to watch the opening game between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday.
“I am hopeful that in the coming season, we will be able to get back to normalcy and have the full domestic season and host the best-ever ICC T20 World Cup,” Ganguly has written.
He has also assured all the state units that the BCCI is keen to organise domestic tournaments for the under-19 boys in June and July, provided the covid-19 situation doesn’t get out of hand.
“All the international and domestic players deserve immense credit for staying in a bio-secure environment for such a long period of time and yet delivering such high quality and wonderful cricket,” wrote Ganguly.
