Former India batsman VVS Laxman believes that Ishaan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav are entitled to a place in the Indian team in the T20 World Cup to be held later this year.
Twenty-two-year-old Ishaan and 30-year-old Suryakumar made a spectacular debut in international cricket. Ishaan scored 56 off 32 balls against England while Surya scored 57 from 31 balls and 32 from 17 balls in the fourth and fifth T20s respectively.
“This is a tough question because we have seen many youngsters take full advantage of the opportunity in this series,” Laxman said in Star Sports’ Cricket Connected.

“But the way Ishaan and Suryakumar played in their first innings, I think I would have both in my 15-player World Cup squad,” he said.
“It is a tough selection but both are entitled to a place in the Indian team in the World Cup,” he said.
Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar said that there is a lot of time in the T20 World Cup and many players can get a place in the team by performing well in the IPL.
He said, “There is still a lot of time in the World Cup. IPL has to be done before that. I think some players can make room and there is scope for that. Right now, no one can be called out of the race for a place in the World Cup squad. ”
Asked if Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be in the team, Bangar said, “Of course. He is fit and in form too. ”
