Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania are expressing frustration after an electronic voting company at the center of President Trump’s voter fraud allegations backed out of a scheduled hearing.
“Last evening, Dominion Voting Systems lawyered up and backed out of their commitment to the people of Pennsylvania to provide input in a public format in which 1.3 [million] Pennsylvanian’s entrusted,” Pennsylvania State Rep. Seth Grove said Friday after the news that Dominion Voting Systems representatives canceled a scheduled appearance before the State Government Committee.
Trump’s legal team has called out Dominion several times while making the case that widespread voter fraud and irregularities altered the outcome of the presidential election earlier this month.
Trump lawyer Sidney Powell said earlier this week that the company’s voting software is designed to “rig elections.”
“The math just doesn’t add up for anything, and we know Dominion has a long history of rigging elections because that’s what it was created to do to begin with,” Powell said.
“The Dominion Voting Systems, the Smartmatic technology software … were created in Venezuela at the direction of Hugo Chavez to make sure he never lost an election after one constitutional referendum came out the way he did not want it to come out,” Powell said in a press conference Thursday. “We have one very strong witness who has explained how it all works. His affidavit is attached to the pleadings of Lin Wood and the lawsuit he filed in Georgia. … As soon as he saw multiple states shut down the voting on the night of the election, he knew the same thing was happening here.”
“Dominion Voting Systems categorically denies false assertions about vote switching issues with our voting systems,” the company said in a statement.
“Why after weeks of accusations has Dominion Voting Systems not released any analysis of the success of their voting machines to the public in order to stop their accusers in their tracks?” Grove asked on Friday. “If they have nothing to hide, why are they hiding from us?”
All major news networks have declared Joe Biden as the president-elect, and several news outlets and fact-checkers have categorically dismissed claims that voter fraud altered the election.
