Pregnant Brittany Cartwright defends herself from body shamers

Don’t mess with this “Vanderpump Rules” mama.

Brittany Cartwright slammed trolls who have been criticizing her body during her pregnancy via Instagram on Thursday.

“I’m so sick of the haters trying to say I photoshop my mirror selfies,” she said as she bared her baby bump in a bra and shorts. “Any woman in the world knows how to take a flattering angle of themselves. I mean, it’s just what we do. You know, it’s never going to look the same as an unflattering paparazzi photo that you don’t want to be taken of yourself or that you’re even aware of.”

She added, “I’m so sick of women spreading hate. I’m so proud of my body. I’m healthy. My son is healthy. That’s all that matters.”

She later thanked her fans for the outpouring of love that she received.

Cartwright, 32, and husband Jax Taylor, 41, are expecting their first child together. She is due in April 2021.

She first defended herself from critics who gave her flak over the size of her baby bump in November, affirming that she was “going to enjoy” her pregnancy “no matter what the trolls say.”

Taylor revealed on a November episode of the “Give Them Lala…with Randall” podcast that Cartwright was insecure with her changing body, saying, “She’s already beautiful, she’s already gorgeous, but I always see Brittany looking at herself and I know in her head she’s just thinking sometimes that she thinks she’s not pretty.”

He added of her and her pregnant former co-stars, “Their bodies are changing and they’re not used to that and they’re very insecure. They know they’re excited to be moms, but at the same time, they’re like, ‘Am I gonna get back into that bikini again?’ You know, that kind of stuff. And that’s the thing that I have to reassure her a lot and I love doing it.”

Cartwright and Taylor announced in December they were leaving “Vanderpump Rules.”

“We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors,” they shared at the time.

As of March 2021, filming of the Bravo series was still on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
