Interestingly, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has revealed they will host IPL games in Chennai on black soil instead of red soil which have more clay content. This is because, TNCA believes with a black soil based wickets games can be really high scoring and entertaining.

“We have prepared eight wickets out of which two are of red soil. But we have decided against using the red soil wickets because they disintegrate faster. We want to give teams sporting wickets so that we can have high scoring and entertaining games,” said a TNCA official.
