Mandalorian actress Gina Carano seen out after controversial tweet

Gina Carano went on a sporting goods shopping spree on Wednesday afternoon, following an online firestorm of sorts.

The 38-year-old actress, who plays Cara Dune on the popular Disney Plus series The Mandalorian, was spotted shopping at Big 5 Sporting Goods in Los Angeles.

The shopping spree comes as fans have been calling for her firing from The Mandalorian, over a tweet criticizing Democrats and other controversial remarks.

The actress and former MMA fighter was spotted wearing a festive red long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, plus a red stocking cap.

Despite making fun of Democrats wearing masks in her tweet, Carano was wearing a face mask covering her mouth and nose.

She completed her look with navy blue stretch pants and white sneakers as she went shopping for activewear.

The actress is quite active on Twitter, where she has over 480K followers, though many have started calling for her firing over the past few days.

The #FireGinaCarano hashtag started trending over the weekend, after tweeting a meme that read, ‘Democratic Government Leaders Now Recommends We All Wear Blindfolds Along With Masks So We Can’t See What’s Really Going On.’

One fan, @AlexGoebel123, stated,  ‘F**k now I have to watch @themandalorian with the knowledge that Gina Carano is a Trumpy nut, a transphobe and an anti-masker? Can ya just #FireGinaCarano, Disney?’

Carano had been called out in September for putting ‘beep/bop/boop’ in her profile, seemingly mocking trans people who put she/her/hers next to their name.

Another fan, @alderaansben, added, ‘its more than political differences. She is spewing hate and violent, extremist ideals, and aligningn herself with white supremacists,’ adding #FireGinaCarano.

Twitter user @mastahskywolkah shared a tweet from Disney where they say they, ‘stand against racism,’ and tweets that Carano liked, which claimed America does not have a systemic racism problem.

Other fans not only want Disney to fire Carano, but give more prominent screen time to other female characters.

‘I’m totally down for #FireGinaCarano because she’s transphobic and overall just an awful person who doesn’t deserve a platform. Replace her with Katee Sackhoff’s Bo Katan,’ said @truemanofsteel_

Another fan, @evanscohan, suggested, ‘#FireGinaCarano, make Koska Reeves the new female lead instead,’ referring to the character played by Sasha Banks.
