Man shot in East Oakland

OAKLAND — A 32-year-old man was shot in East Oakland late Monday night, authorities said.

He was in stable condition with a shoulder wound, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at about 11 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of 101st Avenue.

The man, an Oakland resident, told police he was walking to a store when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot. He was able to get a ride to a hospital from a passerby.

Police don’t have a motive yet for the shooting and are trying to determine if the man was the intended target or was hit by a stray bullet.  No other gunshot victims were found in the area.
