IPL 2021 Orange cap: Punjab Kings’ KL Rahul had his best IPL season in 2020, finishing the campaign with 670 runs at an average of 55.83 in 14 matches to bag the Orange Cap. The Punjab skipper is yet to hit the top form but by April 9, he will need to hit the top gear.
Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan, who finished the season in second place with 618 runs, has done well in the domestic cricket. But for India, he hasn’t reached his potential. But with IPL 2021 around the corner, he is expected to bring his A-game and vie for the top spot again.
Rules for IPL Orange Cap
- The award is given to the leading run-scorer of the IPL season.
- The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
- In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
- The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
