Directed by Martin Scorsese and co-written by Nicholas Pileggi, Casino is a mob drama that takes all the gangster lore of Goodfellas and dials it up to 11. Robert De Niro is perfectly cast as Sam “Ace” Rothstein, the Tangiers hotel manager who funnels money to mob elders back East through a morality car wash that’s really just a front for illegal gambling operations. Joe Pesci is equally brilliant as his mobster friend, Nicky Santoro.
