Marketing at the Casino

Casino

There’s something about the sights, sounds and smells of a casino that makes it a one-of-a-kind experience. Champagne glasses clink and coins jingle as people dance, laugh and try their luck at a variety of games. Although some people tuttle when they lose, most players seem to have a good time.

As a result, casinos are a popular destination for parties, events and celebrations. They are also the perfect place to practice problem-solving and decision-making skills. Regardless of whether you are new to gaming or a seasoned pro, there are games to suit everyone. Some require no skill, like slot machines and roulette, while others involve a degree of strategy. In addition to playing, there are often bars and restaurants available at many casinos.

With all this activity, you might think that casinos know their audience inside and out. However, that’s not always the case. Demographics, such as age, income and education, are helpful but do not reveal what drives their decisions. For example, a group of women standing outside a casino might be in their late 20s or early 30s and college-educated, but that doesn’t tell you why they are there. They could be on a business trip and have an hour to kill or they could be celebrating a bachelorette party. Without additional information, you would not be able to target them with effective marketing.
