ICC ODI Rankings: Virat Kohli’s India misses out on No1 spot

Ind vs Eng ODI Series-ICC ODI Rankings: Virat Kohli’s India misses out on No1 spot – Already the best side in Test cricket, Virat Kohli’s Indian team had an opportunity to become the no. 1 ranked ODI team through the series against England. But with them getting pummeled in the second ODI at Pune, that chance has disappeared for good.

Going into the India vs England series, India stood at the second spot in the ICC ODI rankings with 117 rating points. The only team ahead of them was the same team they are facing currently – England – with 123 rating points. Three victories against the top-ranked team in the series would have given India 120 rating points and, as a corollary, would have brought England back to 119, thereby reversing the positions of the two teams.
