8 Ups & 6 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (23 March)

IMPACT Wrestling

We’re one month away from Rebellion on 24 April, but you can already feel the magnitude that event possesses. Kenny Omega could end that night as the World Champion of IMPACT Wrestling. This time a few months ago, that was unthinkable.

The AEW World Champion was back in the IMPACT Zone this week alongside Don Callis, as the pair addressed Omega’s Rebellion opponent, Rich Swann. Needless to say, it was a class promo that covered all the points it needed to.

When IMPACT first announced Omega’s return last week, your writer was fully expecting ‘The Best Bout Machine’ to be hidden away on his tour bus. After all, his sole appearance actually in the ring last time around was his IMPACT in-ring debut at Hard To Kill. He was on the tour bus the rest of the time, aside from short beatdowns on Rich Swann, Chris Sabin, and Alex Shelley. Even then, they were either outside or backstage, so this was a nice surprise.

Other than Callis name-dropping legends of wrestling history, we saw a first-time clash between Eddie Edwards and Karl Anderson, news of James Storm’s 1000th match in IMPACT Wrestling, an X Division Championship rematch between Ace Austin and TJP, and Matt Cardona making a challenge to Brian Myers.

Let’s get to it…
